The Probate Court in Michigan is the subdivision of the Courts that hears matters concerning decedent estates, guardianship, and conservatorships.  In a decedent estate case, the Court appoints the personal representative of an individual’s estate upon that individual’s death.  In a guardianship matter the court appoints the individual who will make decisions regarding the care and custody of an individual when that individual is unable to make decisions on his or her own behalf.  In a conservatorship matter the court appoints the individual who will make financial decisions for an individual who is unable to make those decisions for themselves.  The Probate Court supervises the actions of the personal representative, guardian, and conservator for each matter.  Navigating the Probate Court can be time consuming and confusing.  Our office is experienced and able to help make the process easy.
